Dr. Divya Vaishnava, Founder Trustee Bachche- Unki Duniya Foundation,is a social work practitioner and is known as Divya didi by children. She uses storytelling to connect with little children, to convey messages on various issues including: safe practices, consent, boundaries, online safety, gender based violence, discrimination and bullying. She raises her voice against injustice of any kind. She wears many hats while engaging with children- of a storyteller, an educator, a counsellor and a social worker. She believes that art, music and stories can help heal childhood trauma, with this belief she continues to create child friendly spaces in various settings. She started Haryana’s first child friendly police station called Fulwari in Gurgaon’s first women police station in 2017. Her work in the field of child rights, gender justice and prevention of sexual violence reflects her dedication to create a positive change. She comes every Thursday on Gurgaon’s community radio program: Suraksha ki kaksha : Divya Didi Ke Saath and every Monday on Kanpur rural community radio station Waqt ki awaaz with her pioneering radio show on child safety and mental health.
